KenTrade was one of the sponsors of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) 14th annual dinner and award presentation gala that was held on May 3, 2019 at City Blue Hotel in Mombasa. The event provided opportunity for the Agency to update stakeholders on the activities at the Agency.
While addressing the participants the KenTrade CEO Amos Wangora noted that the Agency is keen to on supporting activities that are geared towards enhancing trade facilitation in the country. “We continue putting our efforts to enhance trade facilitation and together with your support, we will achieve a common goal of simpler, faster and efficient trade for the economic growth of our nation,” he said.
He added that KenTrade and ICS have a history and every year the Agency sponsors the gala because it brings together various stakeholders from both public and private sector to discuss issues affecting the industry and most importantly to celebrate industry achievers. The ICS is an internationally recognized professional body representing shipping industry professionals throughout the world. The objective of ICS is to maintain high professional standards across the shipping and Port Industry worldwide. ICS provides shipping related education and training. This annual event brings together trade facilitation industry players including clearing and forwarding agents, shipping lines, bankers, importers, exporters, logisticians among others.
