Gilbert is Board Member Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA),Member Railway Consultative Committee, Member Chief Executives Forum, National Business Agenda, Member, Board of Governors, Railways Training Institute, Member of CEO Forum system, Also chairman of Mombasa port corridor charter and presidential round table committee.
He holds a Certificate in Corporate Governance from International Centre for Leadership and Development (ICLAD), Institute of Internal Auditors, Advocacy Competence Course- Business Advocacy Fund (BAF), He is a Training of Trainers Freight logistics and management – KRA Training, Mombasa.
